Common Questions

  • Where am I staying on this trip?

You'll be staying at various local three to five star hotels or lodges along your route, some of which are very iconic properties with great locations, views and history. All our accommodations are carefully selected by our Canadian Insiders. We'll make sure that wherever you stay, you get the best value and comfort based on the seasonal availability.

  • What is included in the price?

Typically we include and pre-book all your main trip components so you don't have to worry about your connections, places to stay, or activities on your trip. You'll receive your detailed digital travel documents, and our Canadian Insiders remain at your disposal throughout your trip to answer any questions.

  • Can I customize this trip?

Your trip can be as rich as you'd like, and completely arranged around your interests and needs. The greatest benefit of working with us is our local knowledge. You can request your personalized trip plan to decide what you'd like to see and do.

If your trip is a special occasion, we'll make sure it is unforgettable. Or if you're traveling with a group, we'll take care of the logistics so you can share time together stress-free.

  • What are the best ways to travel around Canada?

Canada has a network of spectacular roadways, train routes, ferry crossings, and float planes. We can arrange for you to travel by car or to sit back and relax.

  • Is it safe to drive in Canada?

New visitors will drive with ease because of the wide and well maintained roadways. We'll ensure your trip includes the most spectacular and safest routes throughout your trip.

  • When is the best time to see wildlife?

That depends on the destination and type. As a rule, the main feeding and migration seasons are best for wildlife experiences. Tell us which animals interest you and we'll make your trip coincide with the best viewing season.

  • Is this an escorted tour?

With the exception of our guided wildlife trips, our vacations are not typically 'escorted.' We combine the best of both worlds – the reassurance of seamless connections, customer service support, and scheduled activities, plus the freedom of 'independent' travel. You are not tied into a specific group, or a rigid daily itinerary. This allows us to personalize your trip to suit your occasion, interests, and timeframe.

  • Will it be cold when I visit Canada in summer?

The temperature varies from mild to hot, depending on location. Northern Canada will range between 50°F to 64°F (10°C – 18°C) in summer. The interior of BC, prairies, Ontario and Quebec can reach temperatures around 95°F (35°C). Canada's west coast, mountain regions, and Maritimes enjoy milder summer temperatures. They range on average from 59°F to 77°F (15°C – 25°C).

  • How much does my trip cost?

All our trips can be customized to fit your schedule and budget. The price depends on travel season, train service, hotel level, and the sightseeing tours you choose. Request your personalized trip plan and quote which will provide you with a detailed cost estimate.

We had a fabulous time. Everything was great. My one granddaughter said it was the best trip ever! Everyone was very responsive to our concerns as we planned the trip, and we did not need to call about anything while on trip. Our favorite parts were the Stampede show and the drive to Jasper.

Thank you so much for organizing what was a truly wonderful vacation and celebration for our 25th wedding anniversary.  Our Rockies itinerary was a truly memorable experience and we appreciated the extra touches, such as the chauffeured transfers and the hotel rooms with exceptional views that you had included for us. Our favourite spot was Moraine Lake and the beautiful lakeside room made it even more special for us. Thank you once again and we hope to contact you when we start to prepare our vacation for 2016!

We had an amazing vacation! We saw so many awesome things and experienced so many exciting adventures! The scenery was even more beautiful than we expected and the weather was perfect. Thank you for helping us plan such a great vacation! Everything you gave us was so organized and so easy to follow, that everything went very smoothly. All of the hotels were great! We were given free upgrades at Lake Louise and at the airport hotel in Calgary, which was a nice surprise. The hotel in Banff was very nice, although it did not have air conditioning. The hotel in Jasper was a great hotel! All of the activities you helped us plan were phenomenal! We really enjoyed the Olympic Park, rock climbing was fun and scary, and the gondola in Banff was very cool! The river rafting was the highlight of our trip! The longer day was so much fun, with great scenery and very fun rapids! They even let us rent a GoPro for the rafting, so we got some amazing video of the rapids! Canoeing Lake Louise was spectacular! The color of the water was unreal! The rental car was great too, it was a nice size and good for the nearly 1,000 miles we drove. This vacation had a great mixture of planned activities and plenty of time for unplanned activities. We saw two waterfalls on the way back from river rafting that were simply beautiful, and because we had some open time, we were able to visit them. All in all, it was one of the best vacations I have ever been on, and I have been on many vacations. I would highly recommend you and your company to anyone who is thinking of vacationing in Canada! I have already passed your name along to my parents, who are very jealous of our vacation.

We had a really fantastic holiday. It all worked very well and the shape of the itinerary was excellent. A few comments in different areas: Itinerary – felt right pace of moving on and stopping. Think it was about right. One or two very long drives but then it's a big place! Places – Whistler and Banff were probably the best parts. Whistler in particular is a great resort (we skied there 20 years ago but it's developed a lot and is lovely in the summer); Tofino was wild and windswept but fun; Clearwater was a good stop for Wells Gray but otherwise less going on; Jasper was nice but less so than others; Vancouver was a great city so a good place to start. Activities – really there were no 'misses', family enjoyed everything. In order of family vote with best first – rafting in Banff, Grouse Mountain (especially the Grouse Grind), Blue River safari, kayaks in Tofino, ziplining, cycling in Jasper etc. Whale watching was probably last. Lodges & Hotels – no complaints and generally very good, especially Whistler and Clearwater. Sometimes a bit cramped being all in one room and not ideal with the kids sharing a bed. But locations more than made up for this, eg. Tofino, Jasper and Clearwater were all in terrific spots. Car – great, no complaints. Weather – fantastic, thank you for arranging. Overall, a fantastic and memorable holiday.

I talked to the girls and all agree the absolute highlight of the trip was the Emerald Lake. The beauty, quiet and options were outstanding. We all went our separate ways for hikes on the one full day we spent there. The lake was amazing and the views were breathtaking and it was worth the effort. We only saw one other person on the trail in nearly 7 hours of hiking and I was very grateful for the hot tub when we got back. The guided hike to Stanley Glacier was also outstanding. Our guide was great and we had a chance to meet some great folks from the UK and Australia. Our kids hiked across the glacial bowl and filled up water bottles from the waterfall coming off the glacier, so we could all sample some, and we all had a chance to wade in the stream flowing off the moraine to cool our feet on the way back down. On the way from Jasper back to Calgary, the kids opted to go white water rafting in Field on the Kicking Horse, and really enjoyed themselves. The day trip we took to Whistler was spectacular. Several folks have asked about the trip, and I have given you and your team my highest recommendation. Thank you once again for setting up an amazing trip, and creating memories that our family will cherish for a lifetime.
