    Day 1 – Pan Canadian Train Vacation Begins – Arrive in Vancouver
    One of the most beautiful cities in the world, Vancouver is surrounded by mountains and ocean. Depending on your time of arrival, you can relax and dine al fresco, take a trip out to Stanley Park, or try one of the many tours on foot or bicycle.

    Day 2 – Discover Vancouver
    Spend the day exploring Vancouver!

    • Option 1: The North Shore Tour by Bus
    Vancouver is consistently voted one of the world’s most livable cities as it is uniquely situated between mountains and ocean. This tour allows you to venture into the local mountains and temperate rainforest. Take an exhilarating walk across the suspension bridge at Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, and enjoy the gondola up Grouse Mountain to enjoy an unparalleled views of Vancouver.

    Option 2: Vancouver Bicycle Tour
    The bike is a Vancouverites preferred mode of transport. With an extensive cycle lane network, this tour highlights the best of Vancouver food, history, and culture. Visit the Stanley Park seawall, savour a snack at Granville Island Public Market and see historic Gastown and Chinatown.

    Day 3 – Board VIA Rail’s Canadian Train – Vancouver to Jasper
    Spend the day in Vancouver at your leisure today before your evening departure. Board VIA Rail’s “Canadian” train in the evening, and settle into your cozy private cabin for your overnight journey. It’s the beginning of your Pan Canadian rail journey, on the way to Jasper! You will be lulled to sleep tonight, and wake up in the heart of the Rockies.

    Day 4 – Arrival in Jasper
    When you wake up, be mesmerized by the mountain peaks right outside your window. As the train weaves through the rocky peaks watch for bears, deer, elk or moose – you never know when you might spot one. Arrive in the tiny and welcoming town of Jasper this afternoon, filled with adorable cafes and gift shops run by smiling locals who will be happy to tell you about life in the mountains. Get an ice cream cone and walk around in the fresh alpine air, then retire to your Jasper hotel.

    Day 5 – Explore Jasper
    Spend the day exploring the jewel of the Rockies, Jasper.

    Option 1: Nature Tour with Cruise on Maligne Lake
    This morning the natural beauty of the Rockies is right outside your window as you take a guided small group bus tour through one of Jasper National Park’s most spectacular areas. Marvel at the Maligne River as it thunders through the canyon in a series of waterfalls. Learn how Medicine Lake is “mysteriously” disappearing before boarding a narrated cruise on Maligne Lake, bound for serene Spirit Island.

    Option 2: Best Hike of the Day in Jasper
    Enjoy a professionally guided hike today in Jasper National Park. Going at a leisurely pace will allow you to take in the amazing scenery surrounding you. Depending on the day you may be strolling through wildflowers, gazing at the glaciers above, taking in the stunning colours of the mountain lakes and seeing wildlife! Enjoy a picnic lunch (bring your own) surrounded by spectacular scenery and crisp fresh mountain air!

    Day 6 – Board VIA Rail’s Canadian Train – Journey East to Winnipeg
    This afternoon you are transferred to the train station where a cozy cabin with a large picture window and seats that become a comfortable nighttime bed awaits you on VIA Rail’s Canadian Train again. Your Pan Canadian train vacation continues as you leave the Rockies and slowly glide into the Canadian prairies overnight.

    Day 7 – Arrival in Winnipeg
    The scenery changes as you travel across the undulating plain of the Prairie Provinces. Settle into your seat and enjoy watching the sights from your window before arriving in Winnipeg, you will have the rest of the day to explore this diverse multicultural city. Known as the “Cultural Cradle of Canada,” Winnipeg is home to Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet, the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre, Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra and so much more.

    Day 8 – Experience Unique Culture in Winnipeg
    Enjoy exploring The Forks – Winnipeg’s gathering place with nine acres of activity, restaurants, shopping and interactive fun. Then visit the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, a sight to see from both the outside and the inside. Complete your day with a Davinci Code like tour of the Manitoba Legislative building, on the Hermetic Code Tour.

    Day 9 – Explore Winnipeg and Re-Board VIA Rail’s Canadian Train
    This evening you will settle back into your comfortable cabin as the Pan Canadian train takes you east once again. But first, enjoy your day in Winnipeg.

    Option 1: Assiniboine Park Zoo
    Winnipeg is home to a destination for amazing animal encounters at the Assiniboine Park Zoo. With over 80 park-like acres to explore, the Zoo provides visitors with the opportunity to interact with animal species from all corners of the globe. There is a very visible and active contribution to environmental and wildlife education, research, and conservation in Manitoba at this park. Don’t forget to check out the ‘Journey to Churchill’ exhibit!

    Option 2: Winnipeg Sightseeing Tour
    This popular three-hour Winnipeg bus tour visits various areas and crowd-pleasing sites of the city.     Day 10 – Onboard VIA Rail’s Canadian Train – Journey East to Toronto
    The rich yellows and golds of the prairies are illuminated in the sunlight. In the distance you spot a lone red barn surrounded by an old wooden fence which strikes you as uniquely beautiful. Who knew such flat land could be so stunning.

    Day 11 – Arrival in Toronto and Enjoy Hop On Hop Off Sightseeing
    Arrive in Toronto this morning and spend a day enjoying the quaint and colorful neighborhoods for which Toronto is famous. A Hop On Hop Off bus pass ensures you won’t miss any of the main city attractions and allows you to explore at your own leisure. Let the friendly and knowledgeable tour guides educate you on the fun facts and history of Toronto as they take you through the city with stops near all major hotels in the downtown area. The full tour loop is 2-3 hours.

    Day 12 – Witness the Power of Niagara Falls
    First thing this morning, join a guide and bus sightseeing tour to see one of the great natural wonders of the world - Niagara Falls! The Hornblower Voyage to the Falls takes you close enough to the falls to feel the spray on your face, the thundering sound gets louder and louder and you’re thankful for your poncho. Don’t forget your camera!

    Day 13 – Onboard VIA Rail’s Corridor Train – Toronto to Ottawa
    In the afternoon your train journey along the shores of Lake Ontario will begin. Relax in the comfortable VIA Rail train as you travel through thick forests, across rushing rivers, through quaint villages and past grain towers and old barns. Arriving in Ottawa, you will discover that there is no better place to get the feel of Canadian culture than the historic capital city. Take a stroll around the parliament buildings overlooking the Ottawa River before enjoying a comfortable sleep in your Ottawa hotel.

    Day 14 – Explore Ottawa
    The federal capital of Canada has plenty to discover. Check out the priceless masterpieces at the National Art Gallery and the fascinating historical displays at the Museum of Civilization and the Canadian War Museum.

    Experience a 3.5-hour overview by bus of Montreal and its historical sites. A knowledgeable tour guide will take you through one of the world’s largest French-speaking cities, with stops including Old Montreal, Olympic Stadium, Mount Royal Park Lookout and Saint Joseph’s Oratory.

    You have two days to immerse yourself in the thriving culture of Halifax!     Will it be cold when I visit Canada in summer?

    The temperature varies from mild to hot, depending on location. Northern Canada will range between 50°F to 64°F (10°C – 18°C) in summer. The interior of BC, prairies, Ontario and Quebec can reach temperatures around 95°F (35°C). Canada's west coast, mountain regions, and Maritimes enjoy milder summer temperatures. They range on average from 59°F to 77°F (15°C – 25°C).

    What are the best ways to travel around Canada on my vacation
