    Day 1 – Arrive Vancouver
    One of the most beautiful cities in the world, Vancouver is surrounded by towering mountains and sparkling ocean. Spend the night at a conveniently located airport hotel.

    Day 2 – Vancouver to Salt Spring Island
    Have your camera ready for stunning ocean vistas as you travel to the Gulf Islands by floatplane. Traveling over the shimmering waters of the Strait of Georgia, catch your first glimpse of charming Salt Spring Island where you will be staying for the next three nights.

    Upon arrival, a representative will be waiting at the floatplane dock with your car rental for your time on the island.

    Day 3 – Salt Spring Island Tour

    • Option 1: Best of Salt Spring Tour
    A great way to see all the highlights, on and off the beaten track. Start the day on a walking tour of Salt Spring’s town center, Ganges, and acquaint yourself with galleries, shops, and meet local artisans at their studios. Then, stroll through the Pacific rainforest, with towering cedar trees and lush ferns. You will then head to the south end of the island and stop off at a vineyard for wine tasting and visit to a local cheesemaker. Truly, the best of Salt Spring Island!

    • Option 2: Wine Tour
    A tour for the gourmand in you, this tour shows the full spectrum of Salt Spring’s unique culinary community and its offerings. Try local beer, cheese, bread, and wine – as well as touring the town of Ganges and the north and south of Salt Spring. Guides will also share local stories and historical facts along the way.

    Chocolate Beach Kayaking Tour
    Enjoy a 3-hour kayaking tour in protected and calm waters, past eagles’ nests, seals basking in the sun, and magnificent white sand beaches. We cannot think of a more ‘BC’ way to enjoy Salt Spring Island.

    Day 4 – Salt Spring Island Exploration
    Today you are free to explore Salt Spring Island on your own. Salt Spring is known for its laid-back atmosphere and mild climate which encourages activities like hiking, cycling, golfing, and beachcombing – to name a few. The island is easy to navigate with many secret coves and charming locations to discover.

    Insider tip: If you are visiting Salt Spring over a weekend, make time for the famous Saturday Market in Ganges. Sample local produce and collect unique crafts from island artisans.

    Day 5 – Salt Spring Island to the Sunshine Coast
    As you arrive at the dock today, revel in the luxury of stepping into your own private floatplane. Enjoy the unique experience of a private charter as you travel to the West Coast Wilderness Lodge on the Sunshine Coast. Jade green waters sparkle as your floatplane touches down and pulls up to the dock right outside of the West Coast Wilderness Lodge, your home for the next 3 nights.

    Dinner has been included at the Inlets Restaurant for your entire stay at the lodge. Enjoy local and seasonal selections as the sun sets behind the mountains. The view from the large picture windows will leave you speechless.

    Day 6 – Kayaking at the West Coast Wilderness Lodge
    Your day begins with a delicious breakfast included with your stay. Savour your food, relax, and settle into your wilderness surroundings. A kayaking tour has been included for the day. Additionally, you are free to explore on your own. The walk to Skookumchuck Rapids is highly recommended to get a bird’s eye view of the fastest salt water rapids in North America.

    • 3 Hour Kayaking Tour
    Discover the sheltered waters around the West Coast Wilderness Lodge in Sechelt Inlet. Your guide will lead you to Seal Rock for a memorable visit with a colony of seals, as they bask in the sun. The tour travels though protected waters in a narrow inland sea, past forested slopes and historic fishing villages. Suitable for beginners.
    Activity rating: Moderate

    Insider tip: Did you know that the West Coast Wilderness Lodge has a magical yet undiscovered secret? Discover phosphorescence on a guided twilight kayak tour. As you paddle through the inlet, streams of glowing algae swirl like twinkling stars every time you dip your paddle. This phenomenon is so special it can’t even really be captured on camera – this is something you must simply experience firsthand. This tour is weather dependent – ask the front desk for availability.

    Day 7 – Explore Princess Louisa Inlet
    Continue to relax at the lodge. Today a boat tour up the Princess Louisa Inlet is included. This is one of the most popular activities in the area.

    Venture up the long, glacier-cut fjord passing cascading waterfalls and granite bluffs towering over the shimmering waters. Princess Louisa Inlet Marine Park is known around the world for its beauty. Stop to admire the Chatterbox Falls, fed by rushing glacier waters. Make sure to have lots of room on your camera for this tour!

    Day 8 – Sunshine Coast to Vancouver
    Today your west coast luxury getaway comes to an end. Depart the West Coast Wilderness Lodge directly from the dock on a private floatplane charter. Your flight will bring you to the Vancouver International Airport to connect with your flight home.

    Insider tip:
    To provide the most flexibility for arranging a departing flight from Vancouver, ask your Vacation Advisor to book you an additional post night at a Vancouver airport hotel.

    Will it be cold when I visit Canada in summer?
